17U/16U Team for National Championships
FuZion is excited to announce our plans for the national championship season for the 17U/16U age category.
Tryouts for this program are only open to athletes who were part of our club in the fall of 2021. As we have seen all athletes on the court since early fall, there will only be 1 tryout date.
Tryout details:
- who should attend – only those who are willing to travel to Edmonton, AB in May 2022
- Number of tryout sessions – 1
- Date – Monday, February 21st
- Time – 7:00PM – 8:30
- Location – Moncton Coliseum (main entrance)
- Fee – no charge
- Registration deadline – noon Sunday, February 20th
Season information:
- Only 1 team will be selected following the tryouts
- Training per week – 3 – 4 sessions per week (includes court time, tactical sessions, dryland training, mental preparation)
- Tournaments – a few tournaments in addition to the national championship are being considered.
- Cost – approximate cost for nationals $1100 (includes airfare, accommodations, tournament registration, etc.) & approximate cost for the season $400 (detailed budget is currently being worked on)
- Group fundraising activities will be organized. NOTE – Those who had participated in fundraising activities for the trip to Montreal that was to take place in the spring of 2020, will be able access their own funds.
- Dates – National champion dates May 18 – 21 or May 21 – May 24 (dates will be confirmed depending on the age category this group will be participating in)
- Location – Edmonton, AB

**NOTE – those who are currently participating in our 4-week program, the regular Monday session scheduled for February 21st will be moved to Wednesday, February 23rd from 6:00 – 7:30.
